An indigene of Gombe State born some 27 years ago to a prominent politician, one of the Great Members of the Arewa Consultative Forum Elders. Umar Sani Labaran popularly known as Umar Gombe is one of the fastest rising stars of the Hausa film industry today.

He did his Nursery, Primary and Secondary Education in Gombe the then Bauchi State within the years of 1986-1998 respectively. To further his education, Umar obtained a Diploma in Data processing and Information Technology at New World Computers Professional Institute that is affiliated to University of Lagos in 1999. Another Diploma in Public Administration from Bayero University Kano was where Umar again studied in 1999-2003. He is recently undergoing a Degree Programmed with Ambrose Alli University, studying Bsc. Accounting.

“SHAIDA”, a film Directed by the late Veteran Director Tijjani Ibraheem under the flat form of one of the big banner companies in the Hausa Film Industry, AL-NASEED PRODUCTION was where Umar Gombe had his maiden appearance in the year 2001. At one time, Umar Gombe was one of the Promising Actors of Fasaha Films before he moved to Brightstar Entertainment and FKD Productions and had featured in some of the companies home productions like HASKE, SA IN'SA, SANSANI etc. Umar then decided to have a change of scene to I. S. I films where he is now the Production Manager of the Company and a Special Assistant to Ishaq Sidi Ishaq.

The Hausa Movie Industry is a jungle where individuals display their moral attitudes either through eye-services or the likes in trying to earn themselves respect, charisma or popularity. Umar Gombe is believed to be the most among very few actors, responsible and obedient person that is very transparent from the bottom of his heart. When his Godfather, Ishaq Sidi Ishaq was asked about Umar's, behavioral morality he says:“Umar Farouk's behavior fits the saying 'Charity begins at home', I personally believe that it was the orientation he had from his beginning that he equally displays.
